San Antonio local food and beverage coverage plan for Big news for Pearl food lovers.

The former Carriqui space is getting a new chapter, and this one comes with serious Houston restaurant energy. Bludorn Hospitality Group, the team behind acclaimed Houston spots Bludorn, Navy Blue, Bar Bludorn and Perseid, is opening a new restaurant inside the historic Pearl building this fall.

No name or menu has been announced yet, which makes it even more fun to speculate. But if their Houston restaurants are any clue, expect polished hospitality, Gulf Coast influence, French technique and the kind of food that feels both refined and comforting.

Chef Aaron Bludorn brings a big résumé to San Antonio. He trained at the Culinary Institute of America, worked with Daniel Boulud, led the kitchen at Café Boulud in New York and even competed on Netflix’s The Final Table. He is joined by Victoria Pappas Bludorn and Cherif Mbodji, making this a true hospitality team, not just a chef driven project.

The space itself has history too. Before Carriqui, before Liberty Bar, it was Boehler’s Liberty Saloon, a gathering place tied to the old Pearl Brewery days.

So now one of Pearl’s most storied buildings is getting a fresh start. San Antonio, this should be one to watch.
