Witte Museum Cocktails & Culture

Cocktails, culture, live music, local vendors, and one of San Antonio's most beautiful museum settings?

Cocktails & Culture Night Market at the Witte Museum.

Cocktails, culture, live music, local vendors, and one of San Antonio's most beautiful museum settings? That's a combination worth marking on the calendar.

On June 24, the Witte Museum transforms its riverside grounds into an evening marketplace as Cocktails & Culture: Night Market returns from 5:30 to 9 p.m., offering guests a chance to experience the museum in a completely different way.

Rather than a traditional museum visit, the event blends after-hours access with food, drinks, shopping, entertainment, and community. Visitors can browse local artisan vendors, enjoy live music, explore museum exhibits, and sip cocktails while wandering the grounds along the San Antonio River.

The Witte has become one of San Antonio's premier cultural institutions since opening in 1926, spending the last century telling the story of Texas through history, science, nature, and culture. In recent years, the museum has also embraced a growing lineup of evening events designed to bring new audiences into the space, and Cocktails & Culture has become one of the most popular.

Part of the appeal is the setting itself. As the sun begins to set over Brackenridge Park and the Museum Reach of the River Walk, the Witte's outdoor spaces take on a completely different atmosphere. It's equal parts museum event, night market, happy hour, and community gathering.

Whether you're looking for a unique date night, a midweek outing with friends, or simply an excuse to explore one of San Antonio's most iconic institutions after dark, this event checks all the boxes.

And with the Witte celebrating its centennial year in 2026, the timing feels especially fitting.

Sometimes the best way to experience a museum isn't during the day at all.
